The first international League of Legends tournament of 2022 is finally here. After a Spring Split that practically flew by, regional champions (and one runner-up, thanks to conflicting schedules) will compete in South Korea for one of pro League’s most prestigious championships, the Mid-Season Invitational.  Compared to our last global power rankings from the preseason, only two familiar faces, T1 and Royal Never Give Up, are back in the mix, largely because MSI is a tournament that features more teams from minor regions than major regions.

Shiny Pokémon aren’t something exclusive to Pokémon Go Fest 2021, but Niantic has made sure that the event isn’t lacking in new variants for players to try and catch.  Not only are there 10 new Shiny Pokémon available during the event, which runs from July 17 and 18 from 10am to 6pm local time, but for ticketed players, their base Shiny encounter rates have been boosted. This applies to all Shiny Pokémon, too, not just the new ones being added for Go Fest.

Ryan “OpTic J” Musselman, one of the founding members of OpTic Gaming, has deactivated all of his social media accounts after receiving heavy criticism from OpTic Gaming fans. OpTic’s parent company, Infinite Esports and Entertainment, was sold to Immortals Gaming Club, much to the dismay of the team’s fan base. OpTic J became the president of Infinite Esports in 2018 following the departure of Chris Chaney. As a result, many fans blame J for OpTic’s fall from grace over the past year.

The new Among Us map, the Airship, is live for players around the world and it brings some new tasks to add some extra spice to the game. In total, there are 18 locations, nine of which are new for this map, and throughout these locations are a series of new tasks. Tasks in Among Us function as one of the ways for crewmates to win the game by surviving and completing all tasks while avoiding the imposters.

Australian streamer Luke “MrDeadMoth” Munday has pleaded guilty to common assault after he attacked his partner while streaming Fortnite last December. Munday’s partner, who was pregnant with their third child at the time, was attempting to get his attention while he was streaming on Twitch. He became visibly angry during the argument before getting up and hitting his partner off camera. His partner wasn’t injured in the incident but was shaken up.
