One of the core game modes in Halo Infinite multiplayer is Strongholds, a contest of capture point control that veterans of Call of Duty‘s Domination mode will find very familiar. The basics of Strongholds are simple; there are three capture points scattered around the map. Controlling those sites scores points for your teams, with more points earned the more spots you control. Since Strongholds is one of just four modes playable in ranked and quick play, you’ll likely see it a lot if you consider yourself a dedicated Halo Infinite player.

Apex Legends is celebrating its second anniversary and the legends are dressed up to party. The Anniversary Collection Event is bringing a slew of new cosmetics to the battle royale, along with a hefty crafting discount. The new collection contains 24 recolors of popular skins for several legends. The visuals share a crimson and gold theme and offer a host of cosmetics for a total of 13 characters that range from the eight members of the original cast, plus the new legends up to season five.

Evil Geniuses has released Daniel “roca” Gustaferri, Brandon “BRANTED” Ballard, and Nolan “Temperature” Pepper from its VALORANT team, the North American organization revealed yesterday. This leaves EG’s active VALORANT roster with just two players—Kelden “Boostio” Pupello and Mike “pho” Panza. Temperature joined the North Americans in January 2021 and played his last match for EG in August, having been loaned to Gen.G in September to partake in the Last Chance Qualifier.

Guile, and all of his flash-kicking goodness, is the newest fighter confirmed to be making a return in Street Fighter 6. Capcom showed off the first look at his gameplay today.  With a return to an American airfield and a classic comb of the hair, Guile’s new look combines elements from multiple iterations of the character and even shows off how he will use the Drive System in this new game to open up his gameplay.

Thanks to Pokémon Home and some crazy, convoluted trading mechanics, trainers can finally get Meltan and Melmetal in Pokémon Sword and Shield—but it’ll require you to own another Pokémon game in the series. Since Pokémon Go transfers aren’t available to Pokémon Home at time of writing, you’ll need to go through a long drawn-out process using the Let’s Go games to add these creatures to your teams. First, you need to have captured a Meltan or Melmetal in Pokémon Go through the weird mystery box feature of the game and transferred either Pokémon to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!

As a part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer, Activision added a locked option called Watch Select. A watch allows the player to wear one of several accessories and actually check the time during their matches.  But the option was initially locked when you first entered the multiplayer menus—and the game didn’t say how to unlock the option, either. The process can involve pizza rolls, DLC packs, in-game bundles, and even battle passes.

Some PS4 players have reported an annoying issue when attempting to play Rainbow Six Siege with a disc that makes them unable to join a match when in the menu. When trying to join a match, they’re presented with an “Installation still in progress” message. While reports aren’t that common, the issue has occurred in the past and will likely still occur for players with every new patch, which is understandably frustrating.

In what was likely the most stacked Super Smash Bros. Melee event of 2021, iBDW overcame several of his biggest bracket demons to claim his second Major title at Smash Summit 12 last night.  Starting in pools, iBDW beat Hungrybox 3-1 to claim the top seed out of his bracket, leading into a high-level Fox ditto with Leffen, who was making his 2021 international LAN debut.  HE BE GETTING W'S IN #SmashSummit 12 GRAND FINALS!

The pro Apex Legends scene is making its long-awaited return to in-person competition with a $1 million LAN in Stockholm, Sweden, scheduled for the weekend of Friday, April 29. The tournament will conclude the second split of the Pro League, bringing together all five global regions: APAC North, EMEA, North America, South America, and APAC South. Ten teams will qualify for the event from APAC North, North America, and EMEA. Five teams will qualify from APAC South and South America, rounding out a 40-team event that will be played over three days.

FIFA 22 isn’t all about the Ultimate Team (FUT) game mode. The Career mode or quick co-op games are still two of the most popular ways to play FIFA 22, and players often try playing with the strongest teams in the game in these modes. Considering how clubs have stepped up when it comes to transfers over the past few years, the number of high-tier squads has also increased in the process.
