Overwatch 2’s newest maps are massive and include what feels like limitless places to spring attacks on unsuspecting enemies. As we learned during the Overwatch League’s opening weekend, though, some of the wilder areas have to stay in quick play. During the second match of the day on May 8, the Florida Mayhem was facing off against the Paris Eternal on one of the game’s new maps, Circuit Royal. The Mayhem rolled out on attack using Mei and Symmetra and quickly used Mei’s Ice Wall to create a solid surface on a rooftop.

VALORANT’s executive producer Anna Donlon confirmed via a Dev Diaries post today that a new agent will be added to the game for the start of Episode Four, Act Three. Donlon relayed that the VALORANT dev team at Riot Games will be “strengthening the foundation” of the game during Act Two, which will begin following the conclusion of Act One on Feb. 28. During Episode Four’s second act, there will be no new agent or map, with the team primarily focusing on improving the game’s overall health via updates to agent balance, maps, player behavior tools, and the ranked experience.

In the latest Lost Ark content roadmap, Smilegate introduced a new raid to challenge players on Western servers with the addition of Trial Guardian raids. This new content is set to release in May, alongside the Destroyer advanced class and a collection of quality-of-life adjustments. Trial Guardians raids are weekly challenges where players can attempt to defeat three major bosses, each with their own required item level to enter. Every week, one of the Guardians will be swapped out for another boss and will provide players another challenge to adapt to as the weeks go by.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic was released earlier this year and its initial content patch has been on the live servers since early June. Classic players have been eagerly waiting for a new taste of content from Blizzard, and finally, the game’s next major patch is on the horizon.  Phase two of WoW: TBC Classic will launch on Sept. 15, according to a recent announcement from Blizzard Entertainment.

Fnatic’s League of Legends year came to a tumultuous end at the 2021 World Championship. And now, it looks like the org might be undergoing some changes. The team’s starting mid laner Nisqy told his stream viewers today that it’s “highly likely that [he] won’t be playing competitively” during the upcoming Spring Split. Nisqy joined Fnatic at the start of this past year after a two-year stint in North America with Cloud9.

A new operator is joining the ranks of Rainbow Six Siege when High Calibre is released later this year. The Irish-born defender Thorn brings a great deal of explosive power to a team’s defensive rounds, as well as a new weapon via the UZK50Gi submachine gun. Thorn is a medium-speed, medium-armor operator with a unique ability that lets her deploy three Razorbloom Shells, throwable proximity devices that detonate a couple of seconds after an enemy walks into their radius.

European mid laner Jiizuke won’t be playing on a competitive League of Legends team to start next year, he announced today. The 25-year-old veteran last played for Evil Geniuses, the org he joined at the end of 2019. He’s played in North America for two years but hasn’t been able to secure an LCS championship in that time. The closest he got with the organization was during the 2020 Spring Split payoffs, where he and his team finished third.

Few people expected the Alternator to move into the care package with Apex Legends’ season 10. And although Respawn wanted to shake up the early-game meta, that surprise was one of the reasons why the developers implemented that change, according to game designer Eric Canavese. “One of the big reasons we made that change is because nobody would expect that change,” Canavese told Dot Esports. “It’s a fun and exciting thing to do.

As much as things tend to change in Destiny 2, they also stay the same, and the Iron Banner is no different. The Iron Banner is much different now, featuring a new reputation system, and even a new location in the Tower. Even Lord Saladin has returned with a new moniker after the events of Season of the Risen. In Season of the Haunted, a new Iron Banner quest called “Forging Iron” tasks you to head into the Iron Banner in Crucible and fight against fellow Guardians.
