After Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released, many were excited to jump into the first fully open-world Pokémon game after players got a taste of what an open-world could be in Pokémon Sword and Shield. A new video for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has revealed a little bit about what the world will look like, and how players will move around the world. There wasn’t a whole lot of new information about exactly how seamless an open-world would be in the new games, but Pokémon social media has said that it is the first open-world RPG in the series, and you’ll be able to explore the game at your leisure.

Twitch yesterday announced changes coming to the way that Founders Badge holders can be dished out on channels, and the change will start affecting some communities fairly quickly. Giving content creators the ability to remove the Founders Badge from users, Twitch has given streamers the ultimate control on who gets to be considered a Founder on their channel. The Founders Badge is a “1st” icon that shows up next to the names of users who are among the first to subscribe to your channel.

Fan-made content for games is a hotly contested issue within the gaming industry. League of Legends has become the latest title to be hit with such controversy surrounding the existence of a Chronoshift server that allowed players to access and play a “legacy server” for a 10-year-old version of the game. Developed and available for free, the server was available to League players who wished to access a nostalgic version of the MOBA.

Elden Ring has taken the world by storm these last few weeks. There are more and more new Tarnished entering the Lands Between every day, and with that comes a common question: Where are all the map pieces located? FromSoftware created a map that is near larger than life. It is a continually expanding map that increases in size as the player adventures and explores. With so many areas in the popular game, it can become quite frustrating to get one’s bearings while journeying through the expansive world of Elden Ring.

The PlayStation 5 offers some of the fastest load times ever seen in gaming due to its incredibly fast SSD. However, it also has a relatively low storage space considering most modern games’ sizes. Owners could expand the storage space further with an external drive, but Sony didn’t activate the M.2 SSD internal expansion slot at launch because no other SSDs were fast enough to match it yet. With the internal expansion slot now active, Sony has provided a list of requirements for an SSD to work with the console.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has entered its third season, and just like with most of its updates, this one has caused several players to encounter some new and returning errors.  This includes the incredibly named “Bravo 433 Destructive Gator” error code, which will pop up when trying to connect to the game’s servers for any online play.  Bravo 433 Destructive Gator is a notification you’ll only receive if your connection to the server couldn’t be completed.

Destiny veterans can spot a familiar weapon in Destiny 2. The Hothead made its way to the sequel during Season of the Lost, and it brought a few additions that make it a prime candidate for farming. The Hothead is one of the few weapons that can roll Explosive Light, a perk that boosts damage and blast radius by 25 percent after picking up Orbs of Power and stacks up to six times.

LIRIK made at least $700,000 in 2019 on Twitch from subscribers alone. Ninja made nearly $10 million in 2018. These numbers shouldn’t surprise you because Twitch is the top livestreaming platform with an average of 15 million viewers a day. But how do these streamers make money? Anyone can be a Twitch streamer, but only people with entertaining personalities or riveting content make it to the first step of sharing revenue with Twitch.

The Steam Deck may be a hit but it isn’t Valve’s first foray into gaming hardware. While the Steam Deck can support plenty of controllers, die-hard Valve fans can dust off their Steam controllers to keep things first-party. Since the Steam Deck can do most anything a PC can do, connecting a controller of any variety is a relative breeze. Thanks to Steam already being controller-friendly, the Steam Deck supports controllers from PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and other third-party manufacturers.

To capture the World of Warcraft “vanilla” experience as accurately as possible, Blizzard has included phases in Classic, each with shiny new raids, battlegrounds, and gear. The next patch, and the final phase of Classic, will unlock Naxxramas, a giant floating necropolis in Eastern Plaguelands.  The 40-man raid is one of the toughest in the game and a huge step up from Ahn’Qiraj, Blackwing Lair, and Molten Core. It’s the most mechanically intensive raid in Classic and will almost certainly require a team of skilled, knowledgeable, and well-prepared players.
