The MMO genre is quickly becoming congested. And while Lost Ark was previously only expected to be available in Asia and Russia, Amazon Games is bringing the action-focused RPG to the West. Originally released exclusively in Korea in 2018, the game has since been beta-tested in Russia as it looks to expand its breadth to other regions. Though the game’s foray into North America and Europe appeared uncertain, Summer Game Fest this year unveiled that Amazon Games will be publishing the game for a Western audience.

Akshan, League of Legends’ newest champion, has only been available to play on the live servers for a little over 24 hours. But Riot is already seeing enough results from the champion to administer some buffs.  After just one day, Riot is buffing Akshan’s base attack damage from 50 to 52, while also upping his base HP from 530 to 560. Additionally, Akshan’s Avengerang (Q) is seeing its cooldown at max rank reduced from six seconds to five seconds.

Riot Games recently initiated a ban wave in VALORANT to help prevent smurfs from impacting the game’s competitive queue.  Smurfing is a considerable problem in almost any competitive multiplayer game. Some players create a second account to play lower-leveled opponents for an easy experience, while others use the account to play with their lower-ranked friends. But this typically ruins the competitive experience for the other team since the smurf is typically better than them.

Since its launch in 2018, Apex Legends has released countless skins. Some were time-limited with seasonal events, while others were obtainable through the battle passes. Like all of Apex‘s playable characters, Loba joined the game with 15 basic skins, 15 rare, five epic, and four legendary skins—all of which can be purchased at any time in the game menu for crafting materials. On the other side, she doesn’t have dedicated chromas yet, which usually belong to the category of the rarest skins since they require their Legendary variant and can only be purchased when they rotate in the game’s shop on rare occasions.

It looks like the dream of cloud gaming is finally poised to become a reality. After 20 years of technological advancements, major company’s are throwing their hats into the ring to be the go-to spot for game streaming service. Xbox announced it’s new cloud gaming service in July, built on the XCloud technology that powered Mixer. Google launched its cloud gaming service Stadia this summer, even signing some games like Orcs Must Die!

Leading into Pokémon Go Tour: Johto, Niantic held a social media contest where players could submit their Trainer and a team of three Pokémon of the same type to be considered for a spot as an NPC.  Winning Trainers have now been added to Pokémon Go as an NPC themed around one of the eight Johto Gym Leaders, meaning players participating in Go Tour: Johto will need to beat them in order to finish the event’s Battle Challenge Timed Research.

Connecting your Ubisoft account to Xbox Game Pass is required to enjoy titles like Rainbow Six Siege and Extraction on the PC Game Pass. Players must log in to their Ubisoft account to enjoy the title, which might be a confusing process. Sometimes, errors also prevent players from connecting their accounts and further assistance is required.  After selecting a Ubisoft title like Rainbow Six Extraction in the Xbox Game Pass, players will be prompted with a web page asking them to log in to their Ubisoft account.

Pokémon UNITE rolled out a ton of new content, with the start of a new season and the usual addition of a new battle pass. Ranked season two is now live, meaning players can claim their rewards from last season and work towards beating that rank in the coming months. As the first ranked season of Pokémon UNITE progressed, players and their knowledge of gameplay and team composition improved, making the ranked experience more difficult, but also more fulfilling.

Overpass is the first completely new bomb defusal map that Valve designed for CS:GO. The long-range battlefield was added to the competitive map pool in 2013 and hasn’t been removed since. The map, though, has received some updates since its introduction and even added two in-game memorials to celebrate plays that happened at CS:GO Majors. Both make reference to Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer, one being a graffiti based on his iconic in-fire defuse in a crucial round against Dignitas at ESL One Cologne 2014, and the other is a sign that makes reference to the controversial boost Fnatic and olof used to defeat LDLC in DreamHack Winter 2014.
