Niantic is switching things up by adding a new kind of Community Day event to the rotation in Pokémon Go, Community Day Classic.  The first of these new events is called Classic: Back to Bulbasaur and brings things back to the start with the very first Pokémon in the Pokédex on Jan. 22.  As always, players can enjoy the usual three-hour lure and incense extensions during the event, as well as triple catch experience for capturing any Pokémon.

Those familiar with MOBA games were treated with plenty of familiar game mechanics and gameplay choices when the first game of the style in the hugely popular Pokémon franchise, Pokémon UNITE, launched on Switch earlier this week. With five players on a team and just two lanes, the game encourages one player to jungle for their team. Jungling is a term used for a player who takes down enemy minions from within the wild area between the two main lanes to collect Aeos Energy and score points for their team.

Former North American color commentator Michael “KiXSTaR” Stockley has been forever immortalized in Rainbow Six Siege, the FPS game he left his mark on both as a player and later as an analyst and caster until his sudden death in October 2021. The highly anticipated beta test of Korean MMO Lost Ark began in the west yesterday, and thousands of new players have joined the game for the very first time. There is a ton of content to explore during this week-long closed beta, but there will also be a lot of questions. With a focus put on exploration by the MMO game, you often have to keep an eye on secret content when entering dungeons.

Diablo Immortal, the latest addition to the dearly beloved Diablo series, enjoyed the biggest launch in the franchise’s history. However, it’s also been controversial. Players are furious because the game is riddled with microtransactions, many of which are ‘pay-to-win.’ It’s not a new fad in mobile gaming, but it is new to the Diablo series, and it’s left a bitter taste in players’ mouths. Asmongold is one such aggrieved fan. The Twitch star was vocal about concerns and has now quit, passing his verdict on the game and claiming its problems run deep.

White-Faced Varré is an NPC that Elden Ring players encounter directly after leaving the tutorial area of the game. He’s on a small hill in Limgrave overlooking the Church of Elleh and the Tree Sentinel boss, right next to the First Steps site of grace. His quest involves unlocking invasions, allowing Tarnished to enter the worlds of others to kill them for item rewards and for the fun of it.
