It’s hard to keep Mad Maggie down, and the legend has proved that a few times over. Introduced in Apex Legends’ eighth season as Fuse’s friend-turned-nemesis, Mad Maggie is a staunch defender of her home planet, Salvo. She was heartbroken when Salvo joined Syndicate space in season eight and her aggression against the Syndicate kicked off a series of developments in the lore at the time. Though fans believed they’d seen the last of Mad Maggie at the end of the season eight comic, when she seemingly plummeted to her death, Respawn pulled a reverse-Forge and offered her as the legend to join the Apex Games in season 12 thanks to a surprisingly merciful (and machiavellian) intervention from Duardo Silva, Octane’s father.

Apex Legends has a new character coming with the release of its next season. Players will soon be able to go into battle with Obi Edolasim, also known as Seer. Seer will be joining the Apex roster for season 10, Emergence, on Aug. 3. And if you think you recognize his voice based on what you’ve heard from him so far in teasers, you might be correct. Far Cry 6 is the latest installment in Ubisoft’s open-world shooter franchise. This time around the action takes place on the fictional island of Yara. The story involves taking out the brutal dictator “El Presidente” Antón Castillo, and in true Far Cry fashion, there’s a vast array of weapons and vehicles at hand to complete the task. Exploring the island, hunting animals, and freeing enemies on a seven-inch display could be a fun and exciting experience, but there’s a minor issue.

This year was closer to a decade in the lore of Apex Legends. Fans got to see an avalanche of storylines with new and old legends alike—and that’s even before taking into account the 208-page lore book Respawn Entertainment released in February. In Call of Duty: Warzone, loot is the name of the game. Loadouts are filled with players’ preferred weapons and perks, but in the early game, it’s all about what you find on the map. Zacian’s Hero of Many battle form is bursting into Pokémon Go at the end of August alongside a host of gen eight Pokémon, marking the first time that Pokémon from a future generation have come out before species from the previous one. As with other Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, Zacian will be available for a limited time in level five raids, meaning a party of at least 10 competent trainers will need to work together for a chance of beating and capturing the Pokémon at the end of it.
