Minecraft Championship (MCC) 21 to take place on April 30

The Minecraft Championships (MCC) are now officially back on a regular schedule with MCC 21 set to run in April. MCC 21 will run toward the end of the month on April 30, Noxcrew announced today. Noxcrew previously returned from a hiatus to run MCC 20 on March 26. MCC 21 will be the second event of the second half of this season of MCC. The official MCC Twitter account shared a short video of various past MCC players in the Decision Dome to highlight this announcement.

Twitch considering new content policy with ‘mature’ tag

Twitch is testing major changes to its mature content tag, according to a report by Zach Bussey. These changes have not been confirmed by Twitch, although if they are approved, it could allow the platform’s broadcasters to stream potentially sexually suggestive content without consequence if they abide by the pending guidelines. Twitch has long had a mature tag that gates off certain streams by age. This mature tag, in its current state, is entirely optional, unenforced, and used by relatively few streamers.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is officially free to download in the Steam Store. Valve announced in a small game update several days ago that CS:GO will be downloaded for free, ahead of the 13th Major in the game’s history, FACEIT London. Now it’s finally available for download in the Steam client. Gambit Esports swept Envy in the Grand Finals today, earning the $225,000 prize and establishing themselves as the best team in the world. Hate raids return to Twitch, another wave of attacks target LGBTQIA+ streamers

Hate raids have once again propagated across Twitch. But this time, viewers from an entirely different platform are targeting LGBTQIA+ streamers on Twitch. Streamers such as EarthToBre, Blizzb3ar, and xProvexx were all among the first to report on hate raids stemming from Cozy.tv. Users descending on Twitch reportedly spammed Twitch chatrooms, Discord servers, and flooded creators’ DMs with hateful, homophobic messages. EarthToBre said that users on Cozy.tv encouraging these hate raids also restreamed targeted streamers’ broadcasts while mocking them.
