VALORANT players will be without the game’s newest map for a little bit due to a game-breaking bug. Riot Games announced today that Fracture, which made its debut in Competitive mode yesterday, has been temporarily removed from the VALORANT ranked queue. The reason for this removal, according to the official VALORANT Twitter account, is because a bug has arisen where the Spike spawns underneath the map, making it impossible for the offensive team to retrieve it.

Millions of players flooded in to play Amazon’s new open-world MMO, New World. The highly anticipated game, which hit the live servers on Sept. 27, 2021, had had an incredible launch on Steam and Twitch, bringing in countless eager viewers to the streaming platform.  On day one, over a million players entered New World, according to Amazon. That number jumped up to many thousands more in the days and weeks following, translating to lengthy queue times.

The Island Games Quests went live this week and some of the most popular Creative maps in Fortnite have become featured game modes for a limited time. While Creative fans don’t need any quests or rewards to continue playing their favorite custom maps, adding rewards certainly helps draw in more players who usually stick to Classic game modes. Players are divided into two teams in Prison Breakout: Guards and Prisoners. Prisoners will try to escape, while Guards will try to prevent that from happening.

If you aren’t using an external chat program or platform while playing Fortnite, you’re likely relying on the internal voice chat function while working to get some victory royales.  Whether it be chatting with your friends as you drop together or trying to communicate with random teammates you get paired with, the voice chat is a key component for most Fortnite players. And that just makes any instances of the voice chat not working even worse.

The Aftermarket event is on its way to Apex Legends with dozens of new cosmetics and another heirloom—this time for Caustic, Gaea’s deadliest scientist. Players can get their hands on the death hammer starting on Oct. 6. Like other heirlooms, the sledgehammer is tailor-made for Dr. Nox. The weapon has a skull on its back as a possible nod to his visual from the System Override event and takes on a yellow-orange hue similar to Caustic’s default color palette.

Christmas has come early for League of Legends fans. To celebrate the game’s 10th anniversary, Riot is rewarding its player base with 10 Days of Gifting. Included in the vast range of free goods are a summoner’s icon, a Little Legend, and, most importantly, an Annie-versary skin. Starting today, Oct. 17, League fans simply need to log in, play a game, and reap their reward. Day one of the event will offer an anniversary icon, emote, and ward skin, ramping up to bigger and better gifts each day.

All sports (and esports) have their legendary players. Football has Tom Brady, basketball has Michael Jordan, soccer has Cristiano Ronaldo, and Dota 2 has N0tail. N0tail has been involved in Dota 2’s competitive scene since 2012 and was an active Heroes of Newerth player before that. Alongside his then-close friend Tal “Fly” Aizik, N0tail was a part of one of the most successful teams in Heroes of Newerth. N0tail’s move to Dota 2 seemed sudden and it took him a while to find a working formula, so it’s safe to say that some fans probably didn’t expect him to end up as one of the legendary players in the game.

A new six-minute short shows Pathfinder’s creators made another robot out of his spare parts, whom Pathfinder calls his “child.” The video also reenacts the final chapter of Pathfinder’s Quest and explains what happened to the Group and how they ultimately solved the Energy Crisis in the 2600s.

Ranked play in Apex Legends is getting an overhaul in the next season with more opportunities to earn RP, fairer matches, and a change in scenery. The changes to the RP system aim to create more equal combat, especially in Diamond and above, by giving good players more opportunities to stand out. Respawn aims to create a healthier “top end” in Diamond and above in Ranked season eight. The rarefied player pool in Diamond+ was “too small to consistently provide fair matches” in the past, according to an official post.

With the Snivy Community Day putting the Grass-type Pokémon back on the map, you may end up wanting to use or counter Serperior in the Pokémon Go Battle League in the future.  Serperior isn’t actually frequently used outside of the Great League, and even with the addition of Frenzy Plant, that is unlikely to change because of its poor overall stats.  At its peak, Serperior can have Max CP of 2,574 at Level 50 and 2,277 at Level 40 depending on where you plan on using it.
