The Pokémon franchise is all about battling and trading Pokémon, and online battle systems have allowed players to put their teams to the test against foes from around the world. But compared to previous titles, Sword and Shield’s online play is rather lacking. For the newest generation, Game Freak created a new method of playing with friends online—although doing so isn’t exactly straight forward. Participating players will need to have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to use the game’s online features, including battling and trading.

The much-anticipated launch of New World is finally being rolled out worldwide and fans have flocked to the game in massive amounts, topping the charts at over 600,000 concurrent players within the first few hours of the game’s launch. At time of writing, Steam’s game stats show that New World is at 660,981 current players, which is just below the long-standing CS:GO in terms of today’s player count. New World is beating other Steam games, though, such as Dota 2, Apex Legends, and PUBG.

Fan-made content for games is a hotly contested issue within the gaming industry. League of Legends has become the latest title to be hit with such controversy surrounding the existence of a Chronoshift server that allowed players to access and play a “legacy server” for a 10-year-old version of the game. Developed and available for free, the server was available to League players who wished to access a nostalgic version of the MOBA.

Renata Glasc is the latest to join League of Legends’ growing roster of unique champions and will be the next support to grace the bottom lane. She will be added to the game in Patch 12.4, with a whole plethora of powerful skills that will strike fear into any enemies she might come across.

Although he was initially apprehensive about Twitch stars creating streamer tier lists, Felix “xQc” Lengyel finally caved in and made one of his own, placing himself at the very top alongside three other major names on the site. The top tier included four stars he believes are the faces of Twitch: Asmongold, Jaryd “Summit1g” Lazar, Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp, and (of course) himself. Collectively, the group has more than 25 million followers.

Dota 2 commentator Toby “TobiWan” Dawson said he’ll “cease to have any public image in esports” today after being accused of sexual assault and harassment last week, despite saying he’s “not guilty of any criminal offense.” Dawson released a seemingly final statement today in which he said it’s been “horrifying, watching my personal history being stripped of context, warped with fiction then presented to the internet as fact.” He also said anyone who made allegations against him should have pursued the manner legally and “not rely on innuendo or evidence void of scrutiny and both perspectives.

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is a turn-based RPG that features a handful of League champions as the main heroes of a story set in Bilgewater, the lawless port city. Players are tasked with defeating the Ruined King Viego, and to do so, they will have to embark on a perilous journey at sea.  And, as for most RPGs, where there’s water there’s a fishing minigame. Between the dangerous waters of the Shadow Isles and the deep waters of Bilgewater, players can arm themselves with patience, concentration, and the best fishing set they can find on the market to catch treasures and more than 30 different species of fish.

The PlayStation 5 offers some of the fastest load times ever seen in gaming due to its incredibly fast SSD. However, it also has a relatively low storage space considering most modern games’ sizes. Owners could expand the storage space further with an external drive, but Sony didn’t activate the M.2 SSD internal expansion slot at launch because no other SSDs were fast enough to match it yet. With the internal expansion slot now active, Sony has provided a list of requirements for an SSD to work with the console.
