Riot Games is retiring end-of-season physical rewards for Challenger players

In 2016, Riot Games added a little more incentive for players to want to reach the upper echelons of the League of Legends ranked ladder. The company introduced physical rewards for people who reached Challenger at the end of the season. Unfortunately, it looks like those days are now coming to a end. Riot posted an update on its website revealing that it will no longer be rewarding Challenger players with physical rewards at the end of the season from 2019 onward.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel maintenance scheduled for Jan. 26

Konami has revealed the first maintenance period for Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel will take place from 7pm CT on Jan. 26 to 1am CT on Jan. 27.  This scheduled downtime for the game actually lines up with when the new Yu-Gi-Oh! platform shadow dropped and went live on Jan. 19.  The length of the actual maintenance period will vary depending on how long it takes the developers to fix the issues they are working on, so it could end earlier or later than the allotted time.

Astralis’ CS:GO division makes trace its permanent head coach before Antwerp Major

Astralis has promoted Martin “trace” Heldt to be the permanent head coach of its CS:GO roster, the organization announced today. This move has been made one week before the biggest tournament in the first half of 2022, the PGL Antwerp CS:GO Major, begins. With trace behind the steering wheel, Astralis has secured some admirable results in the past few months. The Dane became the team’s main coach in January, and since then, the squad has participated in numerous tournaments.

Epic Games might be running out of ideas for Fortnite skins. The developer has been pumping out new skins at an insane rate over the past two years and it should be commended. But Epic’s newest addition to the store is an abomination. Candyman reactive skin, head spins when you get a kill from FortNiteBR It’s not bad enough that the 1,500 V-Buck Candyman skin is an amalgamation of Valentine’s Day candy boxes strung together to create a horrific Frankenstein’s monster of consumerism incarnate, but it’s also reactive.
