Destiny 2’s latest expansion, The Witch Queen, has a campaign with a diverse cast of new and returning characters. One of the new characters introduced early on is Fynch, an unexpectedly friendly Hive Ghost and the planetary vendor for the new destination, Savathun’s Throne World. He has a shifty personality but an eagerness to help out the Vanguard efforts. It’s hard to tell if his leads are trustworthy, but his quips and enthusiasm craft him into a lovable ally all the same.

Beginning the day with a simple challenge can be the fuel your brain needs to start well. That is one of the factors that made games like Wordle and its several alternative versions so popular in 2022. That and the grids of colored squares that dominated social media, of course. Each day, Wordle will pick a word that you need to guess in up to six tries. The game does not provide clues for the word of the day except for the letters themselves, which will change to green, yellow, or gray, depending on where (and if) they are in the word.

The story of the Season of Heritage is continuing to unfold with Pokémon Go’s newest event, Mountains of Power. This event puts a focus on Rock and Steel-type Pokémon as players work with Team Instinct leader Spark to unlock the second mechanism keeping the mysterious door discovered at the beginning of the season locked shut.  During the Mountains of Power event, which will run from Jan. 7 to 13, players will be able to encounter Mega Aerodactyl in Mega Raids for the first time.

Most MMORPGs have a magic-based character, and Elder Scrolls Online has no shortage of them. Magicka governs your class abilities and your Destruction Staff skills, giving you a pool to cast spells and influencing your Spell Damage. Magicka allows classes to lean into the most unique aspects of their classes, and when it comes to that, having the right tools for the job matters. ESO has plenty of build variety, with each class boasting three unique trees as well as the weapon trees players can spec into.

The strength of starter Pokémon tends to vary wildly in Pokémon Go, but having another generalized Fire/Fighting-type doesn’t really change the game for players looking to fit Emboar into their teams.  Emboar is strong, but that is about the benefit you are getting from using it. And, though Fire/Fighting-type is far from the worst possible pairing, it does leave the Unovan starter weak to Flying, Ground, Psychic, and Water-type moves, which are all extremely common in all three core Go Battle League segments.

It seems like a no-brainer. The massive roster of Pokémon and their wide variety of abilities are rife for a MOBA, and now it’s finally here: Pokémon UNITE. Multiple games published by Blizzard Entertainment that run through the Battle.net client, including Overwatch and Hearthstone, experienced outages late on Dec. 14 due to a confirmed distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack. Intermittent outages and bugs began around 9:45pm CT. A tech support poster on the Overwatch forums, run by Blizzard Entertainment, confirmed that server issues would possibly disrupt players. At the time, the cause of the issues was unknown and the post was limited to Overwatch and, specifically, warning players to avoid competitive mode as to not incur penalties for leavers.

When Kyle “Danny” Sakamaki helped Evil Geniuses capture its first LCS championship last month, the hype around the young team was higher than ever before. They were coming off of a Cinderella-like run through the playoffs, taking out a tough Cloud9 roster with the Spring Split MVP, Team Liquid’s formidable superteam, and, finally, the defending champions in 100 Thieves.
