A video recording of Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhaylov allegedly using mephedrone, a powerful stimulant often compared with cocaine and ecstasy, was uploaded to the internet today by his ex-wife Angelika “LiQueen” Mikhailova. LiQueen made several posts on her Telegram account this morning, first saying that she and Boombl4, the former in-game leader for Natus Vincere’s CS:GO team, have divorced. She then said Boombl4 is addicted to mephedrone, according to a machine translation, and allegedly leaked an intimate photo of him as well as a video.

Twitch has modified how its banning system works with a recent update. Users banned from any given streamer’s chat will now also be automatically unfollowed from the channel. Twitch partner and streamer CommanderRoot tested out and confirmed this new feature. CommanderRoot also provided some nuance into how this new ban and unfollow interaction works. After being banned, a user isn’t prevented from re-following the channel and can do so immediately. Only blocking a user will prevent any user from following the channel again.

SEGA’s new 4X strategy game Humankind is one of “Culture.” As one of the game’s primary mechanics, Cultures dictate the characteristics of your society, and unlike Civilization VI, another popular 4X game, Humankind players have a significant amount of flexibility in the way their Culture progresses and changes over time. Once you reach the Ancient Era in Humankind, you will be able to turn your nomadic tribe into one of 10 Cultures.

MiHoYo’s Genshin Impact launched over a year ago and it’s still going strong. The game surpassed $3 billion in mobile revenue last month, making it one of the most profitable games in the global industry. And soon, it might become available for an even wider audience with a release on Nintendo Switch, adding to the already long list of platforms including Android, iOS, PC, Playstation 4, and PlayStation 5. Although the silence from the developer might indicate that this version had been canceled and wasn’t on the agenda anymore, miHoYo’s global PR specialist Xin Yang suggests otherwise, according to Nintendo News.

No product will stay in pristine condition after you take it out of its box. The PlayStation 5 may retain its performance over time, but it could start throttling and overheating due to an immense amount of dust, preventing it from maintaining a decent airflow. This doesn’t happen overnight, of course, but if you neglect your PS5 long enough in a dusty room, it’ll start acting up. There are many unintended, frustrating issues in video games, no matter how much work the developers put in trying to fix them, and Final Fantasy XIV is no exception. One of the FFXIV‘s worst is the ones that pop up even before the players can launch the game, where the launcher indefinitely checks for the game. This usually allows the game to check for updates and download it if there is one, but can become stuck.

This year’s League of Legends World Championship will be commemorated with a limited release “Championship” skin for Jarvan IV.  Each year, Riot Games releases a special skin in League to mark the game’s annual World Championship. The tradition began in 2012 when Riot released a Championship edition skin for Riven during the game’s second World Championship. Since then, Championship skins have been released for Thresh, Shyvana, Kalista, Zed, Ashe, Kha’Zix, Ryze, and, most recently, LeBlanc.

The trickle of information and teasers for the coming season of Apex Legends, Defiance, is continuing to roll out. A launch trailer is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 27. But in the meantime, eagle-eyed observers noticed a new advertisement on Instagram that revealed a possibly ominous fact: Olympus might be falling. New PlayApex Instagram ad, you can see part of the new skybox (it's floating over a city with hovering cars flying in traffic) and part of the map update just next to Valk.

Nintendo will be moving on from its “NEX” multiplayer service system, which has been in use since the 3DS and Wii U, to a new server system called “NPLN.”  According todataminer and programmer OatmealDome, the NEX system is a variant of Quazal Technologies Inc.’s Rendez-Vous online middleware, which was being developed as far back as 2003. Quazal was purchased by Ubisoft in 2010, who then either licensed or sold the Rendez-Vous system to Nintendo.

The Brawl Stars World Finals 2021 happened from Nov. 26 to 28. The best 16 teams from around the world competed for the title of world champion and a share of the $1 million prize pool. The World Finals featured a single-elimination bracket. Each match was the best-of-five sets, except for the grand finals, which was the best-of-seven sets. Each set was played in a different mode, with each mode being the best-of-three games.
