Horizon Forbidden West took some of the best mechanics from 2017’s Horizon: Zero Dawn and upgraded them. This doesn’t mean that there aren’t any new activities in Guerrilla Games’ new title, however. There are plenty of things to do while exploring the vast, open world. One of them is diving underwater and exploring what lies beneath sunken post-apocalyptic America. When Aloy (the protagonist) dives beneath the ruins, she’ll encounter underwater sunken barriers made of rocks, which seem indestructible.

Players are on a quest to stop Archaeans in Rainbow Six Extraction. Stopping an alien threat will always be more fun with friends, and you won’t even need to purchase Rainbow Six Extraction to test out the game. Players can download a trial version of the game, granting them access to the title for two hours. Though Ubisoft’s official page references the two-hour trial period, the demo doesn’t seem to be available at the time of writing.

As an alternative to Sharding in Retail, Blizzard introduced something called Layers to World of Warcraft Classic. The system, created especially for Classic and Burning Crusade Classic, helps to combat high server populations by splitting each realm into multiple layers. When a layer hits its population cap—which is in the thousands—a new layer is created.  This prevents lag and gives players more room to breathe, level up in peace, and quest without the added strain of having to compete for mobs.

Riot Games and the LCS have made the tough decision not to hold the LCS Championship at the Prudential Center this year due to the sudden rise of cases of COVID-19 in the United States, the league announced today. Instead, the entire tournament will take place at the LCS Arena in Los Angeles in a safer, more controlled environment. The LCS Championship was quickly sold out by thousands of League of Legends fans looking to finally catch their favorite teams in action after only watching them from behind a screen for over a year.

Misfits Gaming has signed Hikaru Nakamura, the five-time U.S. chess champion and one of the most-viewed chess content creators on Twitch, the organization announced today. The multi-time chess champion is now set to join his second esports organization. Nakamura previously signed with TSM in August 2020 but parted ways with the organization in June 2021. You can't be a 5x U.S. Chess Champion without being a little different… without being a misfit.

Sorin is making an appearance in the upcoming Innistrad: Midnight Hunt set via Fateful Absence, a two-drop Instant removal spell in the Magic: The Gathering color White.  The last day of Innistrad: Midnight Hunt spoilers included Fateful Absence, revealed by Channel Fireball, saving one of the best cards for last. The color White in Magic isn’t known for removal spells, making Fateful Absence a surprise and delight to have in the Standard format.

Last week’s Progress Days event bridged the gap between Arcane acts one and two, placing the Piltover elites in the spotlight. This week, however, the undercity of Zaun comes to the forefront with the Undercity Nights event, bringing significant changes and rewards in multiple games, plus a charity tournament called the Riot Gauntlet. Undercity Nights starts on Nov. 14 and brings week-long gameplay changes for multiple titles. The largest of these is Preseason 2022 for League of Legends.

Simply has been an avid Super Mario 64 player, one of the most popular speedrunning games, for nearly his entire Twitch career.
