In late 2020 the next generation of console gaming arrived. For many players, this generation of consoles is their first experience with a high-end gaming device capable of 4K resolution and high-speed refresh rates. These next-generation consoles include the Xbox Series X and Series S. The Series X is capable of top-of-the-line display output, while the Series S has a more limited output. Despite their differing specs, the entire range of next-gen consoles includes built-in recording and streaming features.

Zombies are returning to the Magic: The Gathering Limited format via Innistrad: Midnight Hunt as sacrificial tools and graveyard haters.  The digital launch of Innistrad: Midnight Hunt (MID) on Sept. 16 highlighted a number of worthy archetypes to play in the MTG Limited format, with UB zombies standing out from the pack. The color Black is packed with solid removal and creatures that synergize with the zombie theme. And Blue does what it does best—disrupting an opponent’s strategy, stealing life points with evasive creatures, and sliming non-horror creatures.

One of the most iconic League of Legends players in the world might be making a return to stage play next year. TSM’s head coach and former star mid laner Bjergsen will be playing professionally again in 2022, according to a report by Upcomer’s Tyler Erzberger. On the fourth anniversary of the last God of War release, game director Cory Balrog of Sony’s Santa Monica Studio provided an update on one of gaming’s most anticipated titles in God of War Ragnarok, promising that “something cool is coming.” “There is so much going on right now that I wish we could share with you, but it’s just not ready to be shown,” Balrog said on Santa Monica’s Twitter.

The full reveal trailer for Guilty Gear Strive’s next DLC fighter is now available, showcasing the incoming form of Happy Chaos. Originally revealed during Red Bull Kumite’s GGST top eight bracket, Happy Chaos will join the game’s roster on Nov. 30 for season pass holders. A full release is scheduled for Dec. 3.  Chaos is the third DLC fighter being added to GGST and the third character to join after playing a significant role in the game’s story mode.

Project Abyssia makes her Teamfight Tactics debut within Set 6.5 Neon Nights, alongside Fenroar, Lightcharger, QiQi, Plant Buddy Sprite, and Socialite Nixie.  Set 6.5 Neon Nights takes place after Progress Day, which was the setting for Set Six Gizmos & Gadgets. Scheduled to release on Feb. 14 via Patch 12.4, the Mythic Little Legend Project Abyssia arrives to stir up trouble. Joining her are Fenroar, Lightcharger, and QiQi—each having five variant skins.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is now available globally on Nintendo Switch, and Pokémon Go is celebrating the launch by adding one of the game’s newest Pokémon to the game: Hisuian Voltorb.  This is part of a mini-event called Voltorb from the Hisui Region, which will feature not only the new Electric/Grass-type version of Voltorb but also the original Kantonian Voltorb as well. Kantonian Voltorb can also appear as a Shiny for players lucky enough to encounter one.

With the release of the new generation of Xbox consoles, the Series X and Series S, many owners of the previous devices will be returning to play on the new tech. Coming back to Xbox, players can log into their previously used Microsoft accounts to port over information and application data that was collected from their older consoles. In some situations, users may feel the need to change the email address attached to their Microsoft account whether it be for privacy reasons or to start a new dedicated email address for all their Xbox-related needs.

You log into VALORANT only to find out that your friends are missing from your list. Did they all delete you overnight? Not only a coordinated move like that would be cruel, the odds are of that happening will be quite low. Occasionally, the friends list in VALORANT stops working. This generally happens whenever the servers are under heavy load, especially during new patch releases. When more players than anticipated start flooding into the servers, it’s normal to see some hiccups here and there and the friends list bug is one of them.

Playing solo queue in CS:GO or just with a friend or two can be a stressful experience if you end up with people who aren’t interested in completing the objectives of the game. One of the alternatives was setting up a private server, but that can be hard for new players. But now, it will be easier. Valve has added a Private Queue mode to the game alongside all the Operation Riptide content.
