How much will the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti cost?

Nvidia unveiled its next flagship graphics card, the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, at CES 2022. Though it’d be several months after its initial projection, the manufacturer finally revealed the price of the new high-end GPU.

The RTX 30-series of Nvidia GPUs boast more dedicated ray-tracing cores and faster memory speeds than its previous generation. With the 3090, games can run at 8K fidelity close to, or reaching, 60 fps. It can also reach frame rates of 360 with the proper optimization settings. Additionally, the GPU enables Nvidia DLSS 2.0, further increasing performance. All of these features are likely enhanced by the 3090 Ti.

Nvidia announced that the RTX 3090 Ti is available now, starting at $1,999.99. Predictions and rumors had the new GPU selling for more than the already pricey 3090—which starts at $1,499.99. Though it’s a definite jump in price, one must wonder if and when that price will inflate further due to scalping and supply shortages.

The manufacturer confirmed reports about the 3090 Ti at CES that said the new card will come with at least 21GB of GDDR6X RAM, up from the 19.5GB of the 3090. With the newest announcement, Nvidia revealed it would have 24GB of GDDR6X Micron memory running at 21GBps. Theoretically, this card can push past the 1TB per second bandwidth speed, and if so, texture loading will be faster than ever before. 

Securing a 3090 Ti may prove difficult, with Nvidia’s CEO claiming that supply chain issues won’t improve until next year. Those attempting to find one now can get the RTX 3090 Ti’s various versions from a multitude of different card providers like ASUS and EVGA now on Nvidia’s site or other retailers while supplies last.
