How to attune to the Arcatraz in WoW: TBC Classic

The Arcatraz is one of WoW: The Burning Crusade Classic’s most notorious dungeons. With a plethora of iconic boss fights and desirable loot, it’s a popular destination for any max-level character gearing up for endgame content.

Plus, completing the dungeon is a necessary step for players looking to get attuned to the Karazhan raid. In WoW: TBC Classic, every dungeon and raid practically connects with each other—and the Arcatraz is right in the middle of all of them. What’s great about the Arcatraz attunement process, too, is that you can easily complete it while leveling your character since you don’t need to be level 70 to start the required quest chain to unlock the dungeon.

Of course, you could enter the Arcatraz by bringing a Rogue player with 350 points in the Lockpicking skill to unlock the gate for your party. But if you want to construct your party in a certain way that excludes Rogues from the picture, you’ll have to acquire the key to the dungeon the old-fashioned way.

Here’s how to acquire the key to the Arcatraz and unlock one of The Burning Crusade’s most iconic dungeons.

Preliminary quests

To begin the Arcatraz attunement process, pick up the first necessary quest, “Consortium Crystal Collection,” from Nether-Stalker Khay’ji in Area 52.

Complete the initial quest chain until you pick up “Rightful Repossession,” which sends you to Eco-Dome Midrealm.

From there, head to Stormspire and speak with Nexus-Prince Haramad to start the next part of the attunement chain.

Triangulation points

The Nexus-Prince at Stormspire will send you to three different “Triangulation Points” in Netherstorm. You’ll have to use the Triangulation Device given to you by the Nexus-Prince to take readings at different locations throughout the zone.

At the third and final Triangulation Point, you’ll have to defeat a Dreadlord named Culuthas and loot his Ata’mal Crystal. Return it to Nexus-Prince Haramad at Stormspire to move on with the attunement process.

Acquiring the Arcatraz key

Once Culuthas is defeated and the Ata’mal Crystal has been acquired, you’ll need to make your way to Shattrath City to drop off the crystal.

A’dal in the center of Shattrath will give you the quest “How to break into the Arcatraz,” which requires you to secure two key fragments from the final bosses of the Mechanar and Botanica dungeons.

Complete the Mechanar and Botanica, and bring the two key fragments you collected from the dungeons back to A’dal in Shattrath. You’ll then be rewarded with the key to the Arcatraz.
